# Measure performance against targets in Business Central

> Target Calculator is a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central extension that tracks achievement against targets using goal tiers and action plans.

# Target Calculator

Target Calculator is a native Business Central extension that measures performance
against the targets you define. It groups source records (for example by salesperson,
customer, or item), sums a value over a period (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, or
yearly), and reports the **achievement percentage** against each target. It can also
evaluate **goal tiers** and trigger **action plans** when a result is reached.

Everything runs inside Business Central - no external services. Calculations run on
demand from the configuration card, or automatically through standard **Job Queue
Entries**.

## What you can do

* Define a **Target Configuration** that points at any BC table as its data source.
* Set **targets** per group (e.g. a sales target per salesperson).
* Define **goal tiers** (e.g. Bronze / Silver / Gold at rising percentages).
* Include or exclude records with **filters**.
* Trigger **action plans** automatically when a goal is met.
* Review **calculation results** with achievement percentages and status.
* Optionally route results through **approval** before posting actions.
